With last week’s Russian invasion of Ukraine, people all over the world have been wondering how to help Ukrainians who have been dislocated, forced to flee the country, and remain in harm’s way. We’ve put together ways you can help make a difference from right here in the Red River Valley.

- UNICEF is working within Ukraine and with refugees from the region with health, education, nutrition, safe drinking water, and protection of children and families.
- The International Red Cross is helping at-risk and displaced families with food, fuel for heating, medical supplies, and shelter. They are working to enure that medical centers have the necessary equipment, and are providing families with food and hygiene supplies.
- Project HOPE is currently working within Ukraine to make sure people have the medicine and medical supplies they need.
- Doctors Without Borders are currently in the Dontesk Region of Ukraine ensuring people have access to medical care and programs that are essential to health such as Tuberculosis and HIV screenings, as well as a focus on mental health care.
- YMCA in the United States is working with YMCA Ukraine and YMCA Europe with a response to help communities across Ukraine as the current situation develops as part of their World Service Campaign. Updates on their response will be posted on their website as things continue to develop.
