North Dakota State University is planning for a full Fargodome come September as their athletics programs get back to a traditional schedule. NDSU announced Monday that the deadline for season ticket renewals and requests would be June 1st.
Along with the deadline NDSU also announced in the release that they are “preparing for full seating capacity and tailgating for the 2021 fall football season.” That is welcomed news for a fanbase that thrives on the gameday atmosphere and the home field advantage afforded by those fans to the Bison on the field. NDSU had their 32-game home winning streak snapped this spring in a 27-12 loss at home to South Dakota State and then had to go on the road in the playoffs in the quarterfinal round.
In the fall of 2020 NDSU had one game, at home against Central Arkansas, which was only attended by friends and family of players and no tailgating was allowed in the parking lot before the game. In the spring NDSU was limited to 50% capacity during the regular season and in the quarterfinal game against Eastern Washington the Fargodome was limited to 25% by NCAA mandate.
College football starting on time and being played in the fall will be a welcomed site for fans across the country. Right along the same lines getting to see buses, campers and trucks decked out in green and gold along 17th Ave N on the NDSU campus on a Friday night going into Saturday morning followed by a full tailgate lot and a deafening crowd on third downs will all be a welcomed sites for fans, coaches, players and administrators.
NDSU’s first game of the 2021 fall season is scheduled for Saturday, September 4th at home against Albany.
