Monday March 30th – The NCAA has granted a blanket waiver of eligibility to all spring-sport athletes who had their seasons cut short due to Covid-19. The NCAA Division 1 council held a meeting about the topic earlier in the day and came to the decision to allow those athletes whose season were most effected to regain the year of eligibility but left the financial aspect of scholarships up to each independent school.
Nicole Auerbach on The Athletic broke the news first that Athletes will be given a year back however scholarships for each individual athlete will be left up to each school.
The waiver is only for spring-sport student athletes and not for the winter-sport seasons such as men’s and women’s basketball that had many postseason tournaments cancelled due to the epidemic.
